 Malta is an archipelago in the central Mediterranian some 80 km from southern Italy across the Malta Channel Only the three largest islands -Malta Gozo and Comino are inhabited. In the past , Malta was considered to be a part of Africa.

Malta has a Mediterranean climate and it rains mainly in Fall and Winter and it has dry Summers. Snow is very rare on the island, although  snowfalls have been recorded in the last century.  The last one reported in a few locations across Malta in 2014.

Malta is the world's tenth smallest country in area and fourth most densely populated country with around 520 000 people . Its capital is Valletta, which is the smallest national capital in the European Union by area at 0.61 km2 The official and national language is Maltese, which is a mixture of Arabic English and Italian. while English serves as the second official language.
